Join us if you dare for a spooktacular trunk or treat event. Wear your costumes, decorate your car and bring individually wrapped candies or treats to share for a socially distanced fun time.

We thought a “TRUNK OR TREAT” event would be a fun socially distant way to bring our community together to celebrate Halloween. In case you are not familiar, in these events, people park their cars in a parking lot and decorate the trunk in a festive way. Children “trick or treat” by going from car trunk to car trunk rather than going door to door at houses. You can use a Halloween theme, a movie, a book, or character. Get creative (or buy one that is pre-made!) Check out Google or Pinterest if you need ideas! It can be as simple or elaborate as you would like!

After registration
You will receive information including a “map” of the parking lot. This event is limited to 40 cars due to parking lot space.

Please be on time!
We ask that you arrive by 4:30 p.m. We do not want cars driving once we allow our kids to start walking around. Cars will not be permitted to leave the lot until the event ends at 7:00 p.m.

Upon arrival
Look for our volunteers to help direct you. You will receive an assigned parking spot. They will also provide you with some festive goodies from MCDISG, glow sticks for the kids and a voting ballot to vote for your favorite car decorations! The winner will receive a prize!

Treats
Please have your treats easily accessible and individually pre-packaged, so the kids are not putting their hands into bowls. You can bring a small table or have a specific area to lay them out. Please refrain from homemade treats and know we have some kids with peanut allergies.

We are recommending that, for the safety of our kids, everyone wear a mask. You may also want to bring a flash light (optional) for your child to light when walking from trunk to trunk.
